Queen’s official Birthday

On 2nd Saturday of June the Great Britain celebrates the queen’s official birthday. This year it’s occurred for June 9. Though the queen’s real birthday is on 21 April, by tradition the official festivals are held on the 2nd Saturday of June. The British King Edward VII in the beginning of 20th century established this tradition. He was born in last autumn, but wanted to celebrate his birthday in summer, in good whether with the vast confluence of people. On the occasion of this event the national flag are hanged out on all government buildings. The event is marked in London by the ceremony of Trooping the Colour. The celebration is accompanied with the 42-gun salute and and the publication of the birthday honours list.
